We had such a large project, but Dave was patient with us to help us select the kitchen, Master bath room, media room bar area, and entertainment centers of our dreams. He was willing to work within our budget and alerted us to the things we should not scrimp on, such as the best drawer slides and soft close mechanisms available, which have proven to be far worth the money. His attention to detail can be seen throughout the project. From the perfectly fitting built in Miele` coffee machine and built in refrigerator drawers, to the perfectly matching trim that he added around the entire kitchen and family room to tie in our floor to ceiling cabinetry. Nothing was too small to overlook. We get so many compliments on the beautiful cabinet color, the moldings, corbels, trim and overall detail of the cabinets not to mention the gorgeous lighted glass built in hutch with custom stained wood counter top. A lot of our friends have highly priced kitchens with minimal details and assembly line manufactured looks.  They all wish they had known Dave when they built or remodeled their homes.

The cream color of the cabinets in our kitchen was exactly what we wanted and Dave suggested that we carry it into our master bath area. Here we added the same dental molding and hutch qualities as in our kitchen to give it a European feel.

The entertainment centers were dual matching, solid Hickory, complete boxes not just shelves with wood doors like so many other cost cutting builders put in. Dave suggested we add a matching mantel to connect the two entertainment centers and give the room a cohesive look. Once again he was right and it turned out great.

In our media room we wanted an old world “Pub” style bar and entertainment area. Dave constructed both the front and back bar completely out of solid cherry and gave it a dark stain. He added details such as open shelves and glass shelves, a hidden microwave cabinet, and space for a bar fridge with ice maker and dishwasher. He made the bar front with raised panels, the bar top with copper and a custom rail to complete the look. Once again, a stellar performance! Bottoms up!!!

If it were not for us finding Dave with Pro Wood Interiors, I’m sure we would have not gotten the complete detailed look and quality that his company provided us. We might have paid a similar price but would not have exactly what we wanted. I’m sure we will be enjoying his “furniture quality” products(cabinets) for years to come.

There were some delays but it was mainly due to our indecision and change orders. Dave was very patient and helped us in making critical decisions all along the way.

Sincerely.

Anwar and Angela Husein

Let me begin by saying at the outset that this was not a simple project. While not a large one, it encompassed structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, appliances, and cabinetry work. We could not be happier! Dave Portell of Professional Wood Interiors made the journey not only bearable, but comfortable.

Dave is a stickler for detail. If he suggests that you might want to do something you hadn t considered previously, I can assure you, that you probably should do it unless it is a complete budget buster. Our original kitchen renovation plans did not include adding a new pantry. Dave built us some computer generated images of how things would look both ways. We went with the new pantry and now wonder how we didn t manage to think of it ourselves. It pulls the whole thing together — go look at the photos on his website and you ll see what I mean. Speaking of seeing, the final outcome of the renovation is stunning.

The finishes on the wood are superb, uniform and exactly what we had asked for. Everything is in complete alignment, even, square, and vertical —just beautiful. The folks at Wolf provide dimensions for the wood coverings on their integrated appliances. Dave followed those to a T. Unfortunately, those dimensions were off by 1/16th of an inch — a little stainless steel could be seen around the edges of the wood. Dave wouldn t have any of that at all. Off came the drawer front and back to the shop for a complete replacement. Again you could not ask for a better partner. He is just as committed to giving you a beautiful and functional new room as you are; and with his experience, he knows more than I did at least about how to get there.

In short, this project came in on time, on budget and we are amazed at how good things look and work. Even our housekeeper was blown away and took lots of pictures to show her colleagues. If you are looking for someone to do renovations, you can look a long time and you won t find anyone better than Dave s team at Professional Wood Interiors. Oh, yeah, we re not through with them. We re getting a new appliance that hasn t been released to the market yet and when it arrives… Yes, Dave will be doing the Install and integration
